Fiji Airways Men’s 7s winger Joji Nasova is set to reunite with his younger brother Iliavi Masori as they prepare to compete at the HSBC SVNS World Championship in Los Angeles. This marks another chapter in their rugby journey together, having previously won gold for Fiji at the Pacific Games held in the Solomon Islands in 2023.

Under the guidance of Head Coach Osea Kolinisau, the squad has undergone significant reshuffling, mainly due to injuries affecting key players. Notable additions to the team include Iliavi Masori alongside Saunaka’s Lasaro Bogisa and Aisea Nawai from the Fijian Drua development squad. Veteran player Sevuloni Mocenacagi has been named captain, bringing leadership and experience as Fiji looks to build on its proud rugby heritage.

Other returning players include Terio Tamani and Waisea Nacuqu, who add depth to the lineup. The final squad also features Tira Welagi, Kavekini Tanivanuakula, Filipe Sauturaga, Sakiusa Siqila, and Manueli Maisamoa. Unfortunately, injuries have sidelined several players, including Joseva Talacolo, Iowane Teba, George Bose, and Jerry Matana.

The women’s team, Fijiana 7s, will be led by Ilisapeci Delaiwau, including promising newcomer Mariana Talatoka, who could make her international debut.

The LA 7s tournament is scheduled for this weekend, providing an exciting opportunity for both teams to showcase their skills on an international stage. This blend of seasoned athletes and emerging talent offers hope for remarkable performances as Fiji aims for success.

As both teams prepare for the tournament, fans await thrilling rugby action from these athletes dedicated to making their mark on the field.
