Fiji’s Rugby Stars Ready for Pacific Nations Cup Showdown Against Japan

Fiji 7s representative and Silver Medalist Ponipate Loganimasi has been included in the final 23-member Flying Fijians squad for the upcoming Pacific Nations Cup final against Japan.

Captain Tevita Ikanivere will take the field as hooker, supported by Eroni Mawi at loosehead prop and Samuela Tawake at tighthead. The lock pairing of Isoa Nasilasila and Temo Mayanavanua will reinforce the forward pack, while flankers Ratu Meli Derenalagi and Kitione Salawa provide both pace and strength.

In the backline, Frank Lomani and Caleb Muntz will be in charge of playmaking from halfback and flyhalf positions. The wings will feature speedy players Ilaisa Droasese and Vuate Karawalevu, while Inia Tabuavou and Iosefo Masi will form a strong center duo. Elia Canakaivata will play at number eight, leading the forwards.

Isaiah Armstrong Ravula will start at fullback and is expected to generate attacking plays.

Along with Loganimasi, the bench will consist of Mesulame Dolokoto, Hereti Hetet, Meli Tuni, Mesake Vocevoce, Albert Tuisue, Peni Matawalu, and Apisalome Vota.
