Fiji’s Rugby Stars Prepare for Glory as They Meet President

The Flying Fijians and Fijiana XV recently presented their itatau to President Ratu Wiliame Katonivere at the State House in anticipation of the upcoming Pacific Nations Cup and other international matches.

President Katonivere extended a warm welcome to the teams and expressed his appreciation for the pride they have instilled in the nation. He recognized their dedication and achievements, noting their role as inspirations to young Fijians who wish to pursue rugby.

“We would like to thank you for your unwavering commitment to enhancing the image of rugby both locally and internationally,” President Katonivere stated. “Your remarkable performances have made you role models for our younger generations, motivating them to work diligently towards careers in rugby.”

The President also expressed gratitude to the Fiji Rugby Union, coaches, and support staff for their contributions to the players’ development and preparations for international competitions.

The Fiji Water Flying Fijians are scheduled to face Samoa this Friday at 6 pm at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva, while the Vodafone Fijiana XV is gearing up for a series of international matches, including the WXV 3 tournament in Dubai next month.
