The McDonald’s Fiji Coral Coast Sevens aims to enhance the tournament experience each year. Chairman Jay Whyte emphasized that this local event allows spectators to enjoy high-quality international sevens rugby on home soil without any cost.

“We’re focused on elevating the level of competition annually. Our goal is to ensure fans and special guests have an incredible time,” Whyte stated.

A notable new addition to this year’s event is the fan zone, where attendees can take photos and obtain autographs from special guests. There will also be food kiosks available for spectators.

To further improve the tournament, Whyte mentioned the return of Rasta Rasivhenge for social media communications, along with a talented international commentary team featuring Shaun Maloney, Karl Tenana, Greg Clark, Rikki Swannell, Alicia Quirk, Nemani Nadolo, Lote Tuqiri, and Waisale Serevi.

Encouraging local rugby fans to come out in large numbers, Whyte noted, “We are bringing an international sevens event to our backyard, making it easy for everyone to join the excitement at Lawaqa Park. There could be yet another engaging matchup between New Zealand and Fiji, which is certainly thrilling.”

This focus on local engagement and enhancing the tournament experience highlights the dedication to not only the sport but also the community. It promises to be a remarkable event for all rugby enthusiasts, showcasing the spirit and camaraderie of the sport.

In summary, the McDonald’s Fiji Coral Coast Sevens is set to gain new and exciting features, encouraging local participation while providing an opportunity to experience world-class rugby right at home.
