Fiji’s Road Revamp: Pothole Patching Kicks Off in Nadi

The Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) is set to initiate asphalt concrete pothole patching on Wasawasa Road in Wailoaloa, Nadi, starting today. This decision comes in response to complaints from local residents concerning the condition of the road, which provides access to various hotels and restaurants in the area.

In a statement released by the FRA, they acknowledged the feedback from the community and emphasized the importance of maintaining reliable access for local businesses. The authority has previously undertaken metal patching to improve safety on the road by addressing existing potholes.

The work is scheduled to commence on both Wailoaloa Road and Nadi Bay Road, contingent on favorable weather conditions. This initiative marks another step in ongoing efforts by the FRA to enhance road infrastructure in Fiji, ensuring a safer travel experience for residents and visitors alike.

Similar past efforts have been noted in other areas, such as ongoing pavement improvement works on Rewa Street and McGregor Road, which also focus on upgrading road safety and efficiency. Although road maintenance can cause temporary disruptions, it ultimately contributes to the long-term benefit of improved conditions for all road users. The commitment from the FRA to enhance infrastructure reflects a positive step towards better connectivity and support for the local economy.
