The Ratu Kadavulevu School (RKS) U18 rugby team has set out from Fiji to represent their nation at the highly esteemed Sanix World Rugby Youth Tournament taking place in Japan. This event commenced yesterday and the team is filled with anticipation and determination following months of rigorous training and enthusiastic backing from parents, alumni, and numerous supporters.

Head of School, Ilaisa Tukana Waqalala, expressed profound gratitude to everyone involved in the journey leading up to this tournament, emphasizing the community’s pivotal role. “Your support has been a beacon of hope and strength for our boys as they prepare to represent RKS, Fiji, and the Pacific on the global stage,” he stated.

The Sanix World Rugby Youth Tournament features some of the most talented high school teams from around the globe, offering these young athletes a platform to showcase their skills at an elite level. The RKS U18 team is expected to perform strongly, driven by their well-known qualities of passion, resilience, and camaraderie.

This event aligns with RKS’s legacy of nurturing rugby talent, as highlighted by their recent successes, including the development of their U17 team, which clinched the U17 trophy last year by defeating Marist Brothers High School. Such accolades contribute to RKS’s reputation for producing championship-caliber teams and players, further solidifying their status within the Pacific rugby community.

The participation of RKS in this prestigious tournament not only represents an important milestone for the school and its players but also instills a sense of pride within the Fiji community as a whole. The hope is that the boys will return with experiences and stories that will inspire future generations of rugby players.

As they embark on this exciting journey, the RKS team carries the aspirations of their supporters, striving to make an impact and further enhance the legacy of rugby in Fiji.
