Fiji’s Rising Stars Prepare for International Showdown

The Digicel Fiji Men’s National Football Team is gearing up for the FIFA International “A” Friendlies Tri-Nations Series 2024, with training already in progress at the Fiji FA Academy in Ba.

Among the 26-member squad, Fiji U-19 captain Penisoni Tirau and defender Mohammad Aymaan have been selected as promising young talents following their impressive performances at the OFC U-19 Men’s Championships earlier this year.

Team manager Kartik Reddy has announced that there are currently 24 players in the training camp, with two more set to join shortly.

Australian-based goalkeeper Jerome Narayan is already part of the squad, while New Zealand-based Samuela Kautoga is expected to arrive on Sunday, along with captain Roy Krishna, who will join on September 3.

The final squad of 23 players will be revealed on August 30, ahead of their departure to Suva.

Under the leadership of head coach Rob Sherman, the team will compete against the Solomon Islands National Team on September 2 at HFC Bank Stadium in Suva and face the Hong Kong, China National Team on September 8 at Churchill Park in Lautoka.

The 26-member squad includes Isikeli Sevanaia, Jerome Narayan, Akuila Mateisuva, Samuela Kautoga, Patrick Joesph, Sterling Vasconcellos, Atonio Tuivuna, Mosese Nabose, Filipe Baravilala, Ivan Kumar, Muni Shivam Naidu, Sitiveni Cavuilagi, Thomas Dunn, Mohammed Raheem, Setareki Hughes, Aporosa Yasa, Nabil Begg, James Hoyt, Tevita Waranaivalu, Dave Radrigai, Sairusi Nalaubu, Etonia Dogalau, Roy Krishna, Mohammed Aymaan, Rahul Krishna, and Melvin Mani.
