The Digicel Fiji Men’s National football team is in training for the FIFA International “A” Friendlies Tri-Nations Series 2024, with preparations already taking place at the Fiji FA Academy in Ba.
Fresh talents have been added to the squad, including Fiji U-19 captain Penisoni Tirau and defender Mohammad Aymaan, who impressed at the OFC U-19 Men’s Championships earlier this year.
Team manager Kartik Reddy reported that 24 players are currently in training, with two more expected to join shortly. Australian-based goalkeeper Jerome Narayan is already with the team, while New Zealand-based Samuela Kautoga is set to arrive on Sunday, followed by captain Roy Krishna on September 3.
The final squad of 23 players will be revealed on August 30 before the team travels to Suva. Under the guidance of head coach Rob Sherman, the team will compete against the Solomon Islands National team on September 2 at HFC Bank Stadium in Suva, and the Hong Kong, China National team on September 8 at Churchill Park in Lautoka.
The team currently consists of 26 members: Isikeli Sevanaia, Jerome Narayan, Akuila Mateisuva, Samuela Kautoga, Patrick Joesph, Sterling Vasconcellos, Atonio Tuivuna, Mosese Nabose, Filipe Baravilala, Ivan Kumar, Muni Shivam Naidu, Sitiveni Cavuilagi, Thomas Dunn, Mohammed Raheem, Setareki Hughes, Aporosa Yasa, Nabil Begg, James Hoyt, Tevita Waranaivalu, Dave Radrigai, Sairusi Nalaubu, Etonia Dogalau, Roy Krishna, Mohammed Aymaan, Rahul Krishna, and Melvin Mani.
