Setareki Turagacoke, an 18-year-old rookie lock for the Flying Fijians, is set to face a challenging match against Ireland at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin. Recognizing the formidable skills of Ireland’s No. 8 Caelan Doris, Turagacoke stressed the importance of adhering to the game plan provided by the coaches. Playing for French club Stade Francais, he understands the intensity they will face, as Ireland is considered one of the best rugby teams globally.

Although starting on the bench, Turagacoke expressed admiration for Doris’ style of play and has been keenly observing his progress. He noted that the Fijian team must work diligently to minimize the impact of Doris and address Ireland’s strengths in scrummaging.

Turagacoke feels fortunate to be part of a team representing his nation, especially with players he once idolized on television. After being called up to the squad as a replacement for the injured Isoa Nasilasila, he made an impressive debut by scoring a try against Spain in his first Test match last Sunday.

There is a palpable excitement among the team as they prepare for this fixture. Turagacoke shared that the players hold strong belief in their collective abilities and remain hopeful about securing a victory in this upcoming match.

The match is scheduled to kick off at 3:10 AM Fiji time.

For the Flying Fijians, the lineup is as follows: Vuate Karawalevu, Jiuta Wainiqolo, Waisea Nayacalevu (co-captain), Josua Tuisova, Ponipate Loganimasi, Caleb Muntz, Frank Lomani, Elia Canakaivata, Kitione Salawa, Meli Derenalagi, Temo Mayanavanua, Mesake Vocevoce, Luke Tagi, Tevita Ikanivere (co-captain), Eroni Mawi. The replacements include Sam Matavesi, Haereiti Hetet, Samuela Tawake, Seta Turagacoke, Albert Tuisue, Peni Matawalu, Vilimoni Botitu, and Sireli Maqala.

For Ireland, the lineup boasts players such as Jamie Osborne, Mack Hansen, Robbie Henshaw, Bundee Aki, Jacob Stockdale, Sam Prendergast, Craig Casey, and their captain, Caelan Doris.

The match officials include referee Hollie Davidson, along with assistant referees from England and Scotland.

This exciting clash promises to be a thrilling encounter, with both teams bringing their best to the pitch. The enthusiasm and determination shown by the Flying Fijians, particularly Turagacoke’s inspiring journey, reflect the hope and aspiration of the team to overcome challenges on the international rugby stage.
