Fiji’s Rising Star Set for Test Debut Amid Injury Woes

Fijian 7s utility forward Ponipate Loganimasi is poised to make his test debut for the Flying Fijians after being called up as a replacement for the injured winger Selestino Ravutaumada. Loganimasi, who has consistently performed on the international 7s stage and plays as a winger in 15s, has been selected as injury cover ahead of the Flying Fijians’ Pacific Nations Cup semifinal against the United States.

National Coach Mick Byrne confirmed the change, stating, “Stino is being monitored at the moment after his shoulder surgery last Monday and will be out for a couple of weeks.” He added that Ravutaumada will undergo rehabilitation to facilitate a full recovery before rejoining the Fiji squad for upcoming matches.

The semifinal match is scheduled for tomorrow night at 10:05 PM.
