Fijian 7s utility forward Ponipate Loganimasi is poised to make his test debut for the Flying Fijians, stepping in as a replacement for the injured winger Selestino Ravutaumada. Loganimasi, who has consistently performed well in international 7s, typically plays as a winger in the 15s format and has been called up to provide injury cover ahead of the Flying Fijians Pacific Nations Cup semifinal against the United States.
National Coach Mick Byrne confirmed the update, stating, “Stino is being monitored at the moment after his shoulder surgery last Monday and will be out for a couple of weeks.”
Byrne also noted that Ravutaumada will begin rehabilitation to ensure a complete recovery before returning to the Fiji squad for future competitions. The match is set to take place tomorrow night at 10:05 PM.
