Samuela Tamanisau’s exceptional effort and focus led him to claim a bronze medal for Tavua College in the Intermediate boys javelin event during Day two of the Fiji Secondary School Athletics Finals. Tamanisau achieved a personal best throw of 53.45 meters and expressed his gratitude, saying, “I want to thank God for the strength and my coaches for their support.”
Reflecting on his experiences, Tamanisau noted that competing this year felt different. “I noticed a major difference in my second year at the Coke Games. I was nervous last year, but I feel much more confident this time,” he said.
Throughout his journey leading up to the Fiji Finals, Tamanisau encountered various challenges. Nonetheless, he remains dedicated to working hard not only in athletics but also in his academic pursuits. “I hope to continue working hard with my academics so I can build a life for myself and give back to my family,” he mentioned. Besides javelin, Tamanisau is also active in rugby league, playing in the center position for his school.
