Prashantika Prasad, a 22-year-old fourth-year MBBS student from the University of Fiji’s Saweni Campus in Lautoka, is striving to enhance her confidence as she competes for the Miss Fiji Universe 2024 title in Mexico later this year.

Motivated by the desire to embrace rare opportunities, Prasad stated, “I entered this pageant to take up an opportunity that does not always come by in hopes of becoming more confident.” Her core message focuses on building self-esteem and maximizing available opportunities. She emphasized the importance of engaging in spontaneous experiences, acknowledging they can be daunting but instrumental for personal growth.

Prasad aims to raise awareness and contribute to a society that prioritizes resilience and youth empowerment through education, as well as support initiatives for individuals facing mental health challenges and substance abuse issues. Her long-term goal is to complete her studies and become a healthcare provider.

She respects fellow contestants who are courageous enough to participate on such significant platforms, recognizing the value of unity among women. Previously, Prasad served as the deputy head girl at Sangam Sadhu Kuppuswamy Memorial College in Nadi, where she performed as the lead singer for the school’s official music video, featuring the song “My School.”

In addition to her musical talents, inherited from her father, Shalendra Shambu Prasad, Prasad is an active member of the University of Fiji’s musical band. She enjoys tennis and participates in community service activities during medical camps.
