Fiji’s Rising Star: Meet the Miss Universe 2024 Contender Empowering Youth

Prashantika Prasad, a 22-year-old aspiring fashion model, is eager to enhance her confidence and explore more opportunities in the industry. She is one of ten contestants competing for the Miss Fiji Universe 2024 title, which will take place in Mexico later this year.

Currently a fourth-year MBBS student at the University of Fiji’s Saweni Campus in Lautoka, Prasad entered the pageant to embrace a unique opportunity that could help boost her self-confidence. “I entered this pageant to take up an opportunity that does not always come by in hopes of becoming more confident,” she explained. Her message centers around the importance of building self-confidence and seizing available opportunities.

“While spontaneous experiences can be daunting, they are pivotal for personal growth,” she noted. Prasad aims to raise awareness and support initiatives that foster resilience and empower youth, particularly by promoting education and providing rehabilitation for individuals dealing with severe mental health issues and drug addiction.

Her long-term aspiration is to complete her education and become a healthcare provider. Prasad expressed admiration for the contestants who courageously take on such significant platforms, highlighting the value of female solidarity and the lessons she has learned from her fellow competitors.

Before this, Prasad served as the deputy head girl at Sangam Sadhu Kuppuswamy Memorial College in Nadi, where she participated in the school band, singing the lead track “My School” for its official music video. Following in her father’s footsteps, she has a talent for singing and is an active member of the University of Fiji’s musical band. Additionally, she enjoys playing tennis and engaging in community service during medical camps.
