Marica Waqaniburotu has a strong dedication to community service. The graduate of Fiji National University’s Bachelor of Science program has been actively participating in hospital activities just two days into her placement, which is part of her academic requirement for hands-on experience in a healthcare environment.
Following her recent achievement, her focus has shifted beyond her hospital responsibilities. Waqaniburotu aims to highlight the beauty and potential of the Northern Division. She stated, “The Northern Division has so much to offer in terms of natural beauty and cultural heritage.”
One of her main objectives is to collaborate with the local municipality to devise and implement strategies that will enhance opportunities in the North. She emphasized that the development of a new port would not only improve logistical connections but would also draw more tourists to the region, potentially creating job opportunities and stimulating the local economy.
