The Asian Productivity Organization has expressed its gratitude towards Maritino Nemani, the outgoing Chair and Permanent Secretary for Employment, for his exemplary leadership during the 2024-2025 term. In an official letter, APO Secretary-General Dr. Indra Pradana Singawinata commended Nemani for his unwavering commitment and professional handling of sensitive matters, particularly during the 67th Session of the Governing Body held in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Dr. Singawinata highlighted that Nemani earned the trust and respect of all member economies during his tenure. The letter also acknowledged his significant contributions in advancing constructive dialogue, enhancing collegiality, and participating in discussions regarding membership reform and the term of the APO Chair.
Furthermore, special recognition was given to Fiji’s APO Liaison Officer, Fulori Nasau Tuiraki. Notably, despite being a small island nation, Fiji has managed to assert its influence on the global stage, showcasing how principled leadership and professional excellence can lead to significant impact, as evidenced by Nemani’s tenure.
As he concludes his responsibilities as the APO Chair, Nemani will continue to serve as Fiji’s APO Director and remain an active member of the APO Green Productivity Advisory Council based in Tokyo, Japan. His ongoing involvement is expected to be a valuable resource for the organization’s sustainability initiatives.
This development serves as a testament to Fiji’s growing reputation as a respected and capable participant in both regional and international forums, reinforcing the notion that effective leadership and collaboration can propel smaller nations to significant heights on the global landscape.
