Fiji’s Promise: A New Era of Freedom and Unity Emerges

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Professor Biman Prasad, stated that the current government has fulfilled its promise to restore freedom to the people of Fiji by ending the oppressive rule of two individuals.

During his speech at the National Federation Party Annual Convention, Professor Prasad emphasized the government’s commitment to rebuilding a democratic and accountable system in Fiji. He highlighted the importance of removing fear and intimidation, as well as the government’s dedication to listening to and consulting with the public.

He urged party members to support these efforts and remain committed to improving Fiji.

As the oldest political party in Fiji, Professor Prasad remarked that the National Federation Party has endured various challenges while other parties, including some more powerful ones, have disappeared.

The party’s survival, he explained, is rooted in shared values and a collective love for Fiji, aimed at creating positive change. He reaffirmed their belief in unity and peace, expressing a commitment to assist the most disadvantaged members of society to enhance their lives.

Professor Prasad concluded by asserting their vision for a better Fiji, characterized by equality and fairness.
