Fiji’s Prime Minister Heads to China: What Lies Ahead?

Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka departed from Fiji this morning for a State Visit to China, following an invitation from Premier Li Qiang of the State Council.

During Rabuka’s absence, Deputy Prime Minister Viliame Gavoka will serve as Acting Prime Minister. Gavoka emphasized the importance of the 49-year diplomatic relationship between Fiji and China, expressing a commitment to further strengthen these ties.

“We wish the Prime Minister, Mrs. Rabuka, and his delegation safe travels and a successful visit. It is essential that as Acting Prime Minister, our government continues to provide services to the people without interruption,” Gavoka stated.
