Fiji’s Presidential Appointment Set for Month-End Meeting

Parliament will convene at the end of this month to appoint Fiji’s President. The Business Committee has confirmed that the appointment will take place on the 31st at 11 am. Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka is anticipated to propose the current President, Ratu Wiliame Katonivere, for the position. According to the 2013 Constitution, an individual can serve as president for a maximum of two terms.
