Fiji’s outgoing President, Ratu Wiliame Katonivere, has urged the government to prioritize the safety and welfare of all Fijians and visitors during his farewell ceremony at the State House. He emphasized the importance of collaboration and support for Prime Minister and his administration, encouraging citizens to keep them in their thoughts and prayers.
Transitioning back to his traditional responsibilities, Ratu Wiliame assured everyone that his home remains a welcoming space for all. He called upon the public and the government to extend the same level of support to his successor, Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu, the Tui Cakau, who is set to be sworn in as Fiji’s seventh Head of State on Monday.
As Fiji embarks on this new chapter with its incoming leader, it presents an opportunity for unity and collective hope among its people. With a commitment to safety and collaboration at the forefront, the nation can look forward to a promising future where the interests of all are prioritized.
