Fiji’s powerlifting team celebrated a successful outing at the Oceania Regional Powerlifting Championship held in Nauru, securing a total of 19 medals. The team’s remarkable achievements included two golds, seven silvers, and ten bronze medals across various weight categories, including under 74kg, under 83kg, under 93kg, under 105kg, and under 120kg.

Notable medal winners from the event included Vinesh Chand, Faga Varea, Muzzammi Ali, Viliame Lagonilakeba, Kurt Wise, and young prodigy Vivaan Patel, who stood out as the youngest competitor in the championships.

In addition to their success at the competition, Fiji has also been awarded the opportunity to host the 2026 Oceania Powerlifting Championship, further solidifying the country’s rising prominence in the sport.
