In their meeting, DPM Prasad expressed gratitude for UNFPA’s invaluable support in the creation of Fiji’s inaugural National Population Policy. This policy is designed to address demographic shifts and align population dynamics with the country’s national development objectives. Its implementation is anticipated to significantly influence Fiji’s growth trajectory.

Moreover, UNFPA is eagerly anticipating Fiji’s active involvement in the upcoming 58th session of the Commission on Population and Development (CPD) set for April 2025.

This collaboration between Fiji’s government and UNFPA exemplifies a strategic commitment to sustainable development. With the establishment of the National Population Policy, Fiji is positioning itself to better address future challenges related to population changes, creating a more resilient and inclusive society.
