Fiji’s Political Revival: A Promise of Democracy and Unity

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Professor Biman Prasad, affirmed that the current Government has fulfilled its commitment to restoring freedom to the people of Fiji by ending the oppressive rule of two leaders.

During his speech at the National Federation Party Annual Convention, Prof Prasad emphasized the government’s effort to reconstruct a democratic and accountable structure in Fiji.

He highlighted that the party has successfully maintained its promise to eliminate fear and intimidation, as well as to prioritize listening and consulting with the public.

Prof Prasad urged party members to support this ongoing process and to continue backing the government in its endeavors to improve the nation.

He noted, “We are Fiji’s oldest political party. We have endured various challenges while other political parties, no matter how powerful, have disappeared.”

“The strength of our party lies in our shared beliefs. We are united by a deep love for Fiji and a desire to enhance its future. We cherish unity and peace, and we are committed to assisting the most vulnerable among us to elevate their quality of life. We have invested decades in reaching this moment when we can lead with integrity and compassion, making Fiji stronger, better, and more resilient.”

Prof Prasad concluded with a promise to build a better Fiji, one that fosters equality and fairness within society.
