Former FijiFirst Members of Parliament, Iowane Naivalurua, Viliame Naupoto, and Mosese Bulitavu, have officially been sworn in as Ministers in the Rabuka-Coalition Government. Naivalurua takes on the role of Minister for Policing, while Naupoto has been appointed the Minister for Immigration. Bulitavu will serve as the Minister Responsible for Climate Change. The swearing-in ceremony was conducted at the State House by His Excellency the President, Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu.

In addition to these ministerial positions, several Assistant Ministers were also sworn in: Aliki Bia as the Assistant Minister for Information, Naisa Tuinaceva as the Assistant Minister for Transport, and Ratu Josaia Niudamu as the Assistant Minister for Justice. This reshuffling of ministerial appointments is seen as a significant effort by the coalition government to enhance inclusivity and collaborative governance.

The Prime Minister is expected to hold a press conference later today to discuss these developments further, reflecting a readiness to engage with the public about the government’s direction and initiatives moving forward.

Overall, these appointments signal a pivotal moment for Fiji’s political landscape, with an emphasis on addressing key issues such as climate action, immigration, and justice. The integration of former opposition members into these roles may lead to a more responsive and innovative approach to governance, ultimately benefiting the nation’s citizens. This new leadership could foster an environment for effective collaborative solutions to the challenges facing Fiji today.
