The Minister of Agriculture and Waterways, Vatimi Rayalu, has made a strong statement urging individuals considering leaving the People’s Alliance Party or creating a new political party to depart immediately, asserting, “we don’t need you, neither does Fiji.”

Rayalu’s comments followed Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka’s revelation that factions within the People’s Alliance Party might be planning to break away and establish a new party by 2026. This division reportedly includes members of the Cabinet.

“I stand firmly with Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka and The People’s Alliance Party,” Rayalu declared. He emphasized the importance of unity, stating, “there is no room for division, disloyalty, or personal agendas.”

He further expressed that those contemplating leaving should do so without delay. “We’re here because of the sacrifices that Fijians made, coming out in numbers during the 2022 General Election to vote for change. We are that change,” he asserted, emphasizing the party’s commitment to the people.

Rayalu committed to remaining dedicated to his work for Fijians, vowing not to let rumors or personal interests disrupt the party’s objectives. “If you don’t respect the voters who put their trust in us, don’t expect us to respect you,” he stated, reinforcing that the party’s focus is on Fiji’s future and ensuring a better nation for all its citizens.

He concluded with a message of resilience, indicating that they are prepared to move forward stronger than ever, regardless of dissent.
