The Electoral Commission of Fiji (ECF) convened today in its quasi-judicial role to address the appeal filed by Opposition MP Alvick Maharaj against the Registrar of Political Parties’ decision to deregister the Fiji First Party, which took effect on July 1, 2024.

Malimali emphasized that, for the time being, they are unable to make any comments on the matter. “We trust the public of Fiji will understand this need for discretion and be patient,” she said.
