The Fiji Police Force is cautioning the public against directing laser lights at aircraft, highlighting the serious risk this poses to the safety of passengers and crew. Assistant Commissioner of Police – Operations (ACP) Livai Driu issued the alert after discussions with civil aviation officials earlier today. ACP Driu expressed significant concern over the intentional and unsafe use of laser pointers in the vicinity of airports. He emphasized that such actions jeopardize everyone’s safety aboard the aircraft and urged individuals who witness this hazardous behavior to report it by contacting their local police station at 917 or Crime Stoppers at 919.
