Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka visited the Fiji Mission to the United States in Washington, D.C. today, where he expressed his appreciation for the staff’s dedication and their role in representing Fiji in the United States.

During his address, PM Rabuka emphasized Fiji’s ongoing commitment to enhancing bilateral relations with the United States. He highlighted the crucial functions of the Fiji Embassy, led by Ambassador Ilisoni Vuidreketi, which include promoting Fiji’s foreign policy, trade, consular services, and fostering regional cooperation.

Recognizing the embassy’s significant presence on the global stage, the Prime Minister stressed the necessity of bolstering the office to strengthen its impact in international discussions and forums. He also reassured the diplomatic team of the government’s support, ensuring they have the necessary resources to effectively fulfill their roles.

Supporting Ambassador Vuidreketi are First Secretary Eva Baleitilagica, Second Secretary Edwin Pratap, Consular Officer Aporosa Babakobau, and Executive Officer Asena Tunisau, who collectively contribute to the mission’s goals.

This meeting underscores a positive outlook for Fiji’s diplomatic relations and reflects the government’s commitment to maintaining a strong international presence, which is vital for the nation’s growth and cooperation on global issues.
