Fiji’s PM Set for Landmark Visit to China: What’s on the Agenda?

Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka is set to embark on an official visit to China starting Monday, as confirmed by China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. During this visit, the two leaders will engage in detailed discussions concerning China-Fiji relations and various significant issues of mutual interest.

China aims to enhance its comprehensive strategic partnership with Fiji, which is characterized by mutual respect and joint development, and seeks to strengthen ties within a shared future between China and Pacific Island countries. Notably, Fiji became the first Pacific Island nation to establish diplomatic relations with China, and over the past 49 years, their partnership has seen substantial progress with successful exchanges and cooperation across various sectors, benefiting both nations.

The upcoming visit comes at the invitation of Li Qiang, the Premier of the State Council.
