Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka departed Fiji this morning for a State Visit to China, at the invitation of Premier Li Qiang. In his absence, Deputy Prime Minister Viliame Gavoka will serve as Acting Prime Minister. Gavoka noted that Fiji and China have enjoyed 49 years of diplomatic relations, emphasizing the importance of continuing to strengthen those ties. He expressed his wishes for Rabuka, his wife, and the delegation to have safe travels and a productive visit, while also stressing the need for the government to maintain its services to the people without interruption.
