Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka departed from Fiji this morning for China, where he will undertake a State Visit following an invitation from Premier Li Qiang of the State Council.
During Rabuka’s absence, Deputy Prime Minister Viliame Gavoka will assume the role of Acting Prime Minister.
Gavoka highlighted the strong ties between Fiji and China, noting that the two countries have enjoyed 49 years of diplomatic relations. He expressed well wishes for Rabuka, his wife, and the delegation, hoping for safe travels and a successful visit. Gavoka emphasized the importance of continuing government services to the people without disruption during this period.
