Fiji’s PM Embarks on Key State Visit to China: What’s at Stake?

Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka departed from Fiji this morning to visit China at the invitation of Premier Li Qiang. During Rabuka’s absence, Deputy Prime Minister Viliame Gavoka will serve as Acting Prime Minister. Gavoka highlighted that Fiji and China have maintained diplomatic relations for 49 years, emphasizing the commitment to strengthening these ties. He extended wishes for safe travels and a successful trip for Rabuka and his delegation, noting the importance of ensuring that government services to the public remain uninterrupted during this period.
