The Fiji Airways Men’s 7s team kicked off their Perth 7s campaign on a high note, delivering an impressive 26-10 comeback victory against Argentina. Known for their resilience, the Fijian squad demonstrated their reputation as “comeback kings” by scoring four uninterrupted tries after initially trailing 10-0.

Argentina took advantage of two early mistakes by Fiji, quickly capitalizing to put themselves ahead with two tries within the first three minutes. However, Fiji remained composed and clawed back into the match, with Terio Tamani scoring their first points, followed by a successful conversion.

Tamani continued to shine as he displayed extraordinary footwork to slice through the Argentine defense and score again just under a minute later, bringing Fiji to a 14-10 lead by halftime. His tactical awareness and calm demeanor were critical in steering Fiji’s play throughout the match.

Despite a brief setback with a try disallowed by the TMO for a forward pass, Fiji pushed forward, with George Bose adding the third try. The victory was capped off by super substitute Manueli Maisamoa, who powered through for the fourth try, showcasing effective support play.

Looking ahead, Fiji will face Spain in their next match at 7:36 pm, followed by a final pool match against South Africa at 10:52 pm. In a parallel event, the Fijiana team is scheduled to compete against New Zealand at 5:58 pm and Japan at 8:52 pm. All matches will be available for viewing on FBC TV, promising exciting action for rugby fans.
