The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Professor Biman Prasad, affirmed that the current Government has fulfilled its commitment to restoring freedom to the people of Fiji by ending the oppressive reign of two leaders.
During the National Federation Party Annual Convention, Professor Prasad highlighted the Government’s efforts in rebuilding a democratic and accountable administration in Fiji. He emphasized that the party has kept its word to eliminate fear and intimidation, while also committing to listening and consulting with the populace.
He urged party members to support this initiative and to continue backing the Government’s efforts to enhance Fiji’s future.
As the oldest political party in Fiji, Professor Prasad noted that the National Federation Party has endured through various challenges, while other political entities have faded away. The party’s survival, he stated, is rooted in a shared vision for Fiji and the desire to contribute positively to its progress.
He expressed a belief in unity and peace, highlighting the importance of uplifting the most disadvantaged members of society to improve their quality of life. After decades of effort, he declared, the party is now in a position to offer genuine and compassionate leadership aimed at making Fiji stronger, better, and more resilient.
He concluded by stating the party’s goal of creating a better Fiji characterized by equality and fairness.
