Fiji’s Paralympians Shine in Paris: A Celebration of Excellence

The Ministry of Women, Children and Social Protection has publicly commended Fiji’s Paralympians for their impressive performances at the ongoing Paris 2024 Paralympic Games. Minister Lynda Tabuya expressed great pride in the athletes, who have shown remarkable talent and determination on the international stage.

One notable athlete is Irene Mar, who achieved a personal best in Taekwondo, earning her a 7th place ranking globally. “This remarkable achievement reflects her dedication and hard work, and we are immensely proud of her accomplishments,” Minister Tabuya stated.

Additionally, Selina Seau and Naibili Vatunisolo Tagicakibau received praise for their strong performances. Seau showcased exceptional resilience, while Tagicakibau made history by setting a new Oceania Record in the F64 shot put with a throw of 9.19 meters.

“The Ministry acknowledges the immense effort and commitment that our three female paralympians have invested in their training and competition. Their achievements exemplify their perseverance and passion for their sports, inspiring future generations to pursue their dreams,” she concluded.
