Fiji’s Paralympians Shine Bright at Paris 2024: A Celebration of Talent and Determination

The Ministry of Women, Children and Social Protection has extended its congratulations to Fiji’s Paralympians for their impressive performances at the ongoing Paris 2024 Paralympic Games. Minister Lynda Tabuya conveyed her pride in the athletes, highlighting their remarkable skills and determination on the international stage.

Among the notable athletes is Irene Mar, who made a significant achievement in Taekwondo by ranking 7th globally, setting a personal best. Minister Tabuya praised Mar’s dedication and hard work, expressing pride in her accomplishments.

Additionally, Selina Seau and Naibili Vatunisolo Tagicakibau received recognition for their strong showings. Seau displayed outstanding resilience and spirit, while Tagicakibau etched her name in history by setting a new Oceania Record in the F64 shot put with a throw of 9.19 meters.

“The Ministry acknowledges the tremendous effort and commitment demonstrated by our three female Paralympians during their training and competitions. Their achievements are a testament to their dedication and enthusiasm for their sports, serving as an inspiration for future generations to follow their dreams,” Minister Tabuya concluded.
