The Ministry of Women, Children and Social Protection has officially praised Fiji’s Paralympians for their impressive performances at the ongoing Paris 2024 Paralympic Games. Minister Lynda Tabuya expressed her deep pride in the athletes, who have showcased exceptional talent and determination on an international level.
One of the highlights of the games is Irene Mar, who secured a personal best in Taekwondo, ranking 7th in the world. Minister Tabuya remarked, “This remarkable achievement reflects her dedication and hard work, and we are immensely proud of her accomplishments.”
Additionally, Selina Seau and Naibili Vatunisolo Tagicakibau received recognition for their strong showings. Seau exhibited remarkable resilience and spirit, while Tagicakibau made history by setting a new Oceania Record in the F64 shot put with a throw of 9.19m.
“The Ministry acknowledges the significant effort and commitment that our three female paralympians have invested in their training and competitions. Their successes exemplify their perseverance and passion for their sports, inspiring future generations to chase their dreams,” she concluded.
