Fiji’s Paralympians Shine: A Celebration of Talent and Triumph at Paris 2024

The Ministry of Women, Children and Social Protection has extended its congratulations to Fiji’s Paralympians for their remarkable performances at the ongoing Paris 2024 Paralympic Games. Minister Lynda Tabuya expressed great pride in the athletes, who have showcased exceptional talent and determination on an international platform.

One of the notable athletes, Irene Mar, achieved a personal best in Taekwondo, securing 7th place globally. Minister Tabuya remarked, “This remarkable achievement reflects her dedication and hard work, and we are immensely proud of her accomplishments.”

Additionally, Selina Seau and Naibili Vatunisolo Tagicakibau received accolades for their impressive performances. Seau showed significant resilience and spirit, while Tagicakibau made history by setting a new Oceania Record in the F64 shot put with a throw of 9.19 meters.

Minister Tabuya acknowledged the tremendous effort and commitment demonstrated by the three female Paralympians in their training and competitions. She concluded that their successes are a testament to their perseverance and passion for their sports, inspiring future generations to chase their dreams.
