The Attorney-General’s Office will lead the Fiji Human Rights Taskforce, with the aim of coordinating, advising, and promoting ongoing communication among state institutions to ensure Fiji meets its international human rights commitments. This initiative was approved by Cabinet. The taskforce will manage Fiji’s interactions with global human rights mechanisms, such as the United Nations Human Rights Treaty Bodies, the Universal Periodic Review, and the Special Procedures of the Human Rights Council, as well as oversee the implementation of the outcomes from these engagements.
