Fiji’s New Queen: Melania Tora Aims to Empower Through Psychology

Melania Tora of Miss Tents & Awning PTE Limited has been named the ‘Queen’ of the 2024 Miss Hibiscus Festival. During her crowning ceremony, Tora expressed her commitment to using her title to benefit the Fijian community.

The 24-year-old extended her gratitude to her family for their unwavering support throughout the year and acknowledged Tents & Awnings Limited as her sponsor. Tora is currently studying for her master’s degree in psychology at the University of the South Pacific.

She has an impressive academic background, having graduated with distinction from Deakin University in Victoria, Australia, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts and Psychology. Additionally, she holds a Diploma in Arts and Psychology from the University of Canterbury in Christchurch, New Zealand, which supports her aspiration to become a clinical psychologist.

In the competition, Miss Island Accommodation, Martina Sigrah, secured the first runner-up position, while Miss Fiji Fashion Week, Pepe Malani, was named the second runner-up.
