Pacific Specialist Healthcare’s birthing facility in Nadi has reported an impressive success rate for its patients. The hospital encourages expectant parents to explore the positive reviews and social media feedback from new mothers and fathers, reflecting their joy in welcoming their new children.

The PSH Obstetrics and Gynaecology facility is led by Dr. Tui Taoi, recognized as Fiji’s premier obstetrician and gynaecologist. Notably, the birthing team consists entirely of female nurses and nursing assistants, ensuring utmost privacy for expectant mothers.

Parvish Kumar, the director and CEO of PSH, noted that the all-female staff has been well-received by many expectant mothers, garnering support from fathers as well. Kumar shared, “These mothers thank us for doing this.” Following childbirth, mothers enjoy private rooms equipped with amenities such as a television, a lounge suite, and beverage-making facilities, designed to provide a five-star hotel-like experience. The hospital also encourages fathers to stay with their partners during their time at the facility.

Recently, PSH extended its hours by opening a 24-hour branch in Nadi, responding to an increase in patients seeking medical attention at night, particularly international travelers experiencing urgent health issues. The hospital’s low consultation fee of $11.50 has aided public access to healthcare, and plans are underway to explore options for providing these services free of charge, with foreign collaborations being considered.

Kumar emphasized that PSH Hospitals aim to enhance health services, advocate for universal health coverage, and address community challenges related to healthcare access. He remarked that the facility is committed to providing free services to numerous patients in need, as part of its mission to alleviate the burden on the public healthcare system and offer quicker treatment options.

“PSH Hospitals is a different breed of hospital; come talk to us, and you will see that empathy is at the heart of our operations,” he stated. Patients are charged only $11.50 to see general practitioners, regardless of the time of day, and the hospital offers competitive rates for various medical procedures, along with flexible installment plans for major expenses, provided that patients adhere to their financial commitments.
