Fiji’s New Military Leaders: A Journey Begins

The Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) marked a significant occasion on November 19, 2024, with the graduation of participants from the 1/23 Officer Cadet Course and the 1/24 Territorial Officers Bridging Course. The ceremony took place at the Force Training Group Drill Square in Nasinu.

During the event, Minister for Home Affairs and Immigration, Pio Tikoduadua, expressed his admiration for the graduates, recognizing their achievement as a crucial step in their military careers. He articulated the important journey ahead, stating, “You stand on the threshold of a path that few have the honor to tread—a path defined by responsibility and purpose.” Tikoduadua reminded the new officers that they hold key roles not only as commanders but also as leaders, tasked with inspiring their peers through courage and determination.

Emphasizing the vital contributions that the graduates will make to the future of the RFMF and the nation, he said, “You will uphold the traditions of the RFMF while guiding its evolution to reflect the values of our nation.” The Minister stressed the importance of each officer’s personal responsibility in their development.
