Fiji’s New Flight Simulators: A Game Changer for Aviation Training!

Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka recently announced that the $160 million investment in new flight simulators reflects Fiji Airways’ confidence in the country’s future. During the inauguration of two advanced flight simulators, he emphasized that this initiative demonstrates a commitment to bolstering Fiji’s status as an aviation training hub in the Asia-Pacific region.

Rabuka noted that this facility aims to attract trainees and pilots from not only Fiji but also other parts of the region and beyond, further establishing Fiji as a center of excellence in aviation training. He highlighted that Fiji Airways currently brings in around 65-70 percent of all visitors to the country and invests more in global marketing than any other entity promoting Fiji’s travel and tourism sector.

The Prime Minister underscored that the enhanced training capabilities at the Aviation Academy are vital for maintaining high safety and service standards, which are essential for improving visitors’ travel experiences. He also pointed out that these investments are aligned with the government’s broader vision for sustainable development.

Moreover, Rabuka commended Fiji Airways for being a leader in aviation and for its role in environmental stewardship. He stated, “This facility will act as a catalyst for economic activity, benefiting local businesses and contributing to our nation’s overall prosperity.”

He concluded by reaffirming that Fiji remains an attractive destination for both foreign and domestic investments, and the significant commitments made by Fiji Airways in high-tech infrastructure highlight the country’s robust investment climate, especially in sectors like aviation.
