The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Professor Biman Prasad, stated that the current Government has fulfilled its commitment to restore freedom to the people of Fiji by dismantling the oppressive rule of two individuals.

During his address at the National Federation Party Annual Convention, Prof Prasad emphasized the Government’s efforts to establish a democratic and accountable system in Fiji. He reiterated that they have honored their pledge to eliminate fear and intimidation, as well as to engage in open dialogue with citizens.

Prof Prasad urged party members to actively support this initiative and to continue backing the government in its mission to enhance the quality of life in Fiji.

He highlighted the National Federation Party as Fiji’s oldest political party, noting its resilience amid challenges that have led to the decline of other political entities.

“The survival of our party is rooted in our shared beliefs. We are united by our love for Fiji and our desire to improve it. We advocate for unity and peace and aim to assist those in need to uplift their lives. After decades of enduring struggles, we are finally in a position to lead with integrity and compassion, making Fiji stronger, better, and more resilient,” he stated.

Prof Prasad concluded by expressing the party’s commitment to building a more equitable and just society in Fiji.
