Former members of the FijiFirst party, Iowane Naivalurua, Viliame Naupoto, and Mosese Bulitavu, have been officially sworn in as Ministers in the Rabuka-Coalition Government. Naivalurua takes on the role of Minister for Policing, Naupoto has been appointed Minister for Immigration, and Bulitavu will serve as the Minister Responsible for Climate Change. The swearing-in ceremony was conducted by His Excellency the President Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu at the State House.

Additionally, several new Assistant Ministers were appointed: Aliki Bia as the Assistant Minister for Information, Naisa Tuinaceva as the Assistant Minister for Transport, and Ratu Josaia Niudamu as the Assistant Minister for Justice. This reshuffling of ministerial appointments is seen as a strategic move to enhance inclusivity within the government, reflecting a collaborative approach that integrates members from various political backgrounds into leadership roles.

The Prime Minister is expected to address the media later today to shed light on these developments and outline the government’s future direction. This transition marks a significant moment in Fiji’s political landscape, as the coalition government aims to tackle pressing issues such as climate change, immigration, and public justice.

Overall, the integration of former opposition members into these key leadership positions presents an optimistic outlook for governance in Fiji. It highlights a commitment to responsive leadership and innovative solutions to national challenges, demonstrating the government’s openness to diverse perspectives and collaborative problem-solving.
