PROPERTY developer Island Galaxy Pte Limited has unveiled its latest Airbnb offering located at Westfield, just a stone’s throw from Nadi International Airport. The new property, according to a statement from its parent company, Island Group of Companies, includes eight refurbished studio apartments alongside a two-bedroom flat, both catering to potential managers or buyers. Guests can benefit from amenities such as an indoor carpark, laundry facilities, and a breakfast lounge with outdoor entertainment spaces.

Project manager Michael Rajalingam emphasized that this facility is specifically tailored for international travelers transiting through Fiji. The accommodation features two family rooms and six deluxe rooms, all equipped with modern comforts including air-conditioning, televisions, and coffee and tea facilities.

He noted that Westfield is rapidly developing as a business hub while remaining a flood-free zone, making it an attractive location for both leisurely and business stays. Managing director Azad Ali clarified that Island Galaxy focuses on property development rather than real estate sales. The company has successfully sold five similar properties in the past few years and aims to maintain its focus on refurbishing and selling its own investments.

Notably, bookings for the Airbnb can be made via various online platforms targeted at travelers needing accommodations prior to their next flight. This strategic approach is a response to the growing demand in the region for short-term rental options, particularly from passengers in transit.

The challenge surrounding Airbnb’s integration into local housing markets, also echoed in discussions surrounding other developments like the Fantasy Island gated community, further emphasizes the evolving landscape of rental options and the necessity for compliance with local regulations to ensure harmony within residential communities. This focus on sustainable development not only reassures local residents but also enhances Fiji’s standing as a key destination for both leisure and business travel.

As the hospitality sector in Fiji continues to grow, new projects like Island Galaxy’s Airbnb signify an exciting development in the tourism market, catering to changing traveler needs while contributing to the local economy.

This dynamic reflects the broader trend within Fiji’s housing and tourism market, marking a hopeful outlook for the future as it adapts to modern demands and integrates effectively with community needs.
