The National Development Plan (NDP) is set to provide essential guidance for business owners, families, and various stakeholders contributing to Fiji’s economy, according to Paulo Ralulu, managing director of Pacific Operations.
Ralulu emphasized that the NDP will outline the necessary requirements for establishing a business, the compliance measures required, and the importance of tax transparency. He noted, “From a private sector perspective, it’s crucial to first assess the overall costs involved.”
He stated that after addressing costs, the next focus should be on finding the right personnel to manage operations, followed by evaluating the business environment.
The NDP aims to create a clear framework and policies outlining business requirements and compliance standards. Ralulu highlighted the need for transparent taxation, stating, “We are aware of our tax obligations, and for those looking to invest elsewhere, understanding the balance is key.”
