Prince Charles Park is set to host the George ‘Fiji’ Veikoso Homecoming Concert next month. Saliceni Raiwalui, the special administrator of Nadi Town Council, confirmed that final preparations for the venue are in progress.

Mr. Raiwalui expressed that this concert would introduce a new standard for events held in Nadi, stating, “This show will bring a different taste, the sound of the Pacific carrying the spirit of Fiji.” He emphasized the significance of the event for Nadi, mentioning that while the concert organizers will cover the costs associated with Prince Charles Park, the council will manage parking, with plans to utilize Koroivolu Park for additional space.

He indicated the council’s commitment to collaborating with musicians for future events, adding, “We are ready to work with them if there is a plan for the show to be an annual event.”

The concert marks Mr. Veikoso’s return home after 40 years of sharing Pacific music globally. He highlighted that this homecoming represents more than just a concert, stating, “It’s a celebration of our roots, our culture, and the music that connects us all. For four decades, I have had the privilege of carrying the spirit of Fiji and the Pacific to audiences across the globe.”

Mr. Veikoso expressed his excitement about returning home to perform alongside notable artists such as J Boog, Maoli, and Josh Tatofi, reinforcing that the event aims to celebrate unity and community through music. He called the concert a tribute to their shared heritage, eagerly anticipating an unforgettable night with attendees.

A representative from Tourism Fiji expressed enthusiasm about the concert, stating, “We’re thrilled about George Fiji Veikoso’s Home Coming Concert. This event celebrates his incredible talent while also shining a spotlight on Fiji’s vibrant musical scene.” The spokesperson noted that such events foster local economic growth and showcase Fiji’s rich culture and hospitality to international audiences.

Tickets for the concert are priced at $79, $99, $350, and $999 for VIP seating. Local artist and aviator Big Wilz commented on the ticket prices, saying he would support the performers despite the costs, and praised Mr. Veikoso as an important figure in the music world.
