Prince Charles Park is set to host the George ‘Fiji’ Veikoso Homecoming Concert next month. Saliceni Raiwalui, the special administrator of the Nadi Town Council, has indicated that final preparations are being made for the event.

Raiwalui expressed that this concert will introduce a new standard for events in Nadi, stating, “This show will bring a different taste, the sound of the Pacific carrying the spirit of Fiji.” He emphasized the significance of hosting the concert in Nadi, noting that while the organizers will cover all expenses at Prince Charles Park, the council will manage the parking arrangements, with plans to utilize Koroivolu Park for additional space.

The concert marks Veikoso’s return after 40 years of showcasing Pacific music globally. He described the homecoming as more than just a musical event. “It’s a celebration of our roots, our culture, and the music that connects us all. For four decades, I have had the privilege of carrying the spirit of Fiji and the Pacific to audiences across the globe,” he remarked. Veikoso added that he looks forward to sharing the stage with artists he considers family, including J Boog, Maoli, and Josh Tatofi.

He shared that this event is not only a personal milestone but also a tribute to the unifying power of music. “This event is a tribute to our shared heritage, and I can’t wait to experience this unforgettable night with all of you,” he noted.

A representative from Tourism Fiji expressed excitement about the concert, saying it celebrates Veikoso’s remarkable talent while promoting Fiji’s vibrant music scene. They also highlighted the event’s potential to boost the local economy and strengthen community ties.

Ticket prices range from $79 to $999 for VIP access. Local artist Big Wilz voiced his support for the event, stating, “I will pay that much to watch Pojie, Josh, and Maoli. I’m thankful that these brothers are bringing their big kahunas to our shores.” He encouraged attendance while acknowledging that not everyone may be able to make it.

The concert is scheduled for September 14-15.
