George ‘Fiji’ Veikoso is set to return for his second homecoming concert at Prince Charles Park in Nadi, scheduled for September 5, 6, and 7. The Nadi Town Council, led by special administrator Saliceni Raiwalui, is making significant updates to concert facilities, including renovations to the bus stand to accommodate attendees.
Mr. Raiwalui is optimistic about the turnout, reflecting on the success of last year’s event. “We expect a huge turnout again this year,” he stated, underscoring the council’s commitment to enhancing the event infrastructure.
Veikoso recently shared his excitement on social media, expressing his dedication to promoting not just his music but also uplifting other talented artists from Fiji and the wider Pacific region. He described the homecoming concert as more than a performance; it is a celebration of heritage and the unifying power of music.
As preparations progress, the event is anticipated to highlight Fiji’s vibrant culture and musical landscape, potentially stimulating the local economy by attracting both locals and tourists.
Ticket prices for the concert range from $79 to $999 for VIP access, catering to a wide audience eager to experience this musical celebration. Local artist and aviator Big Wilz voiced support for the concert, emphasizing the importance of these artists bringing their talents back home without relying on substantial sponsorship, showcasing a community-driven spirit in the music industry.
This concert not only marks a personal milestone for Veikoso but also embodies a broader cultural celebration for the Fijian community.
